Collybia fusipes is a slow primary root rot fungus, widespread throughout the French forest. The objective of this work was to determine the ecological situations where C. fusipes could induce problems on pedunculate oak. The effects of soil and sylvicultural factors potentially related to C. fusipes distribution and impact, were assessed. Impact of the disease was evaluated through oak decline and infection severity. We have shown that C. fusipes is preferentially distributed in coarse textured soils. The impact of the disease increases with soil sand content, lower soil water saturation and lower soil fertility. Soil conditions linked with increasing disease impact, have a positive and direct effect on the parasite by favouring its surv...
